2 women traffickers arrested at Gorubathan

KALIMPONG, June 11:
Sushila
Tamang aka Neha (aged 35) and Kabita Chettri aka Gopi Maya Chettri (aged 31) was
presented at Kalimpong Court today in the charges of women trafficking. The
Court then sent Sushila Tamang for 12 days remand under section IPC 376, 366 A,
363 and 34 whereas, Kabita Chettri has been put behind bars.
It
may be notified that these two women traffickers were arrested by the Police at
Gorubathan yesterday. These women entrapping a 17 year old from Sombarey
Bazaar, Gorubathan had taken her to Shimla and further forced her into
prostitution. The 17 year old had gone missing on May 26, 2012. On the 8th
day when this teenage victim started having health issues, then the accused Sushila
and Kabita dropped her at Chalsa on June 05. Further, Sushila warning her not to tell anybody about the
incident also tried to lure her by saying that they will pay her more if is she
accompanies them the second time.
As
per the information received from the Police sources, Sushila has been charged
of kidnapping the teenagers and forcing them into prostitution.
