Sky rocketing electricity bills creating dent in the pockets

The
Gorkha Dukh Niwarak Sammelan President Uday Kumar today met the Electricity
Department AI S Agarwal concerning the problems being face by the consumers
pertaining to high amounted bills being sent by the Department and other
problems under Kalimpong Sub Division.
The
Department sending the notices of disconnecting the line, absentee of
meter-reading, the non receiving of the bills on time by the consumers was
discussed during the meeting.
Many
consumers were called at the Electricity office at 10 mile where they poured
their grievances to the representatives and they in turn informed the Manager.
Gopal
Darnal of Bombasti had received a bill amounting Rs 358 in the first months,
followed by Rs15, 951 in the second and Rs 16082 in the third time. The
Department in top has been sending notice of disconnecting the lines when the
heavy amounted bills are not paid by the consumers.
The
President of the Sammelan Kumai has asked all the consumers to submit the bills
after August 2011 and also appealed the NGO for reaching the bills on time.
