Kalimpong, August 01:

The Director of the of the Islamic Religion Leader Studies cum the Visiting Professor of Gloucestershire University, UK, Dr Itaullah Siddique was accorded a warm reception at the SUMI today. It may be mentioned here that Dr Siddique is also an alumni of SUMI. In the year 2006 Dr Siddique was invited to the Buckingham palace by Queen Elizabeth II herself as a gratitude for his contribution towards the British society.
Dr Siddque in his address said that 40 years ago he left the School with 3 important things i.e. discipline, dedication and a mission. Saying that every person should move forward with a mission, he directed the students to work hard and they shall accomplish what they have aimed for.
The SUMI Principal, NR Pradhan along with the Vice Principal, Zion Lepcha presented him the School’s souvenir, School magazine and a framed photograph of the School. The members of the SUMI alumni were also present during the occasion. The gathering also observed a minutes silence remembering Dr Sidiqque’s father, Moulvi Shibghatulla Siddique who passed away last week.
