Nepali dance competition organized at Teesta

The Teesta Yuwa Jagriti
Sangh today organized Nepali dance competition at Teesta Community Hall. The
groups from Teesta and various other places like that of Takling,
Peshoka-Soreng, Melli took participation in the competition. Apart from it,
more than 20 school students also partook in the event. Rama Lepcha and Sangita
Chettri were seated as the judges of the competition.

Busty was adjudged the first followed by Bipana Gurung of Teesta in second, and
Triveni School stood third.
The chief guest on the
occasion was the Teesta-Peshok Sabhasad Ramesh Lama accompanied by the Zilla
Nehru Yuwa Kendra Convenor DK Chatterjee as the guest of honor. The Yuwa
Jagrati Sangh President Budhan Prasad said that the aim of organizing such
programme was to aware the coming generation about the importance and
preservation of the rich Nepali culture and tradition. The youths can be
brought in right path by such cultural programmes he added.
The winners were
awarded with prizes by the chief guest. The programme was held under the
chairmanship of the GJM Teesta Zone President Sharan Chettri.
