Kalimpong,
September 19:
The
Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxist (CPRM) regional branch committee and
Democratic Revolutionary Youth Front (DRYF- CPRM Youth Wing) today burned the
effigy of Prime Minister, Man Mohan Singh today at Damber Chowk. The members of
the committees shouted slogans against the Centre and the PM for giving green
signal to the recent diesel price hike and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
The
President of CPRM regional committee, Kishore Pradhan appealed the public to
support the All India Bandh on September 20, 2012. “The United Progressive Alliance
(UPA) Government is working against the benefit of the public”, he told.
Even
the UPA allies, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Samajwadi Party voicing
against the UPA act are supporting the Bandh.
“The
general public should come out on the streets to oppose such decisions of the
Centre, as the public are the ones who are highly affected”, added Pradhan.
Likewise,
he also appealed to all the political parties to keep politics aside for once
and think about the general populace and support the Bandh
