19th All India Livestock Census reaches the hills

The 19th All
India Livestock Census has commenced in West Bengal under which the domestic
animals reared in every household are listed. Such kind of survey has help
towards the economic development of the rural India. Along with the survey of
the animals, the numbers of machinery and hand tools being used are also
enlisted. Rearing domestic animals is not only the source of income but also
contributes towards balanced diet.
The said census at the
GTA areas is being undertaken by the Animal Husbandry Development Department.
The surveys will be conducted at every household, shops, farm, cow sheds,
butcher’s shop, governmental and non-governmental organizations, public places,
temples, mosque, Gurudwara, etc. where animals are reared.
