Under the leadership of Municipality Vice President, Ganga Maya Gurung and other Municipal Councilors mainly of the town area, the Cleanliness and Sanitary Inspector, Sanjay Pradhan and License Inspector, Sahir Ahmed today conducted raids at different hotels, restaurants and tea and sweets shops of the town. During the sudden visit, they checked the cleanliness being maintained by these commercial establishments in their kitchens, what kind of spices and edible colours they use and how the food items are being kept. They also checked whether commercial cylinders are being used or not.

The commercial establishments at Main Road, Bus Stand, 10th Mile etc. areas were conducted raids. Vice President, Gurung said that the main aim behind conducting the raid was to deliver good quality food items and clean drinking water to the tourists and the local customers and also to maintain a healthy environment. Few restaurant owners who were found of not maintaining the cleanliness were asked to report to the Municipal office.
