Sharad Purnima celebrated

Different holy programmes were conducted today to marked Sarad Purnima at the 160 years old Shri Krishna Pranami Mandir at Ichey Busty. Raj Bhai Mataji and Shri Dayal Das had constructed the 160 years old mandir. Pujas were performed, Bhajans were chanted and preaching carried on. The devotees from different organisations attended the day. The Sarad Purnima was also celebrated at Tshering Tsholeing Gumpa.
The Sharad Purnima or Kojaagari Purnima or Kumar Purnima is a harvest festival celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu lunar month of Ashvin (September–October). The rainy season is over and the brightness of the full moon brings special joy. This is a traditional celebration of the moon and is also called the Kaumudi celebration, Kaumudi meaning moonlight.
