Husband sent for 8 years imprisonment abetting suicide of his wife

Additional Sessions Judge, Madhu Sudan Dutta today convicted 30-year-old
Nagen Tamang, resident of Middle Lingding Busty to undergo rigorous imprisonment
for eight years and to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000/- .
He was found guilty of abetting the suicide of his wife Bidya
Rai (Tamang). Bidya Tamang whom Nagen Tamang had married only four months back
i.e 13.3.2011 consumed poison on 28.6.11. While Bidya Rai was battling with her
life accused Nagen Tamang did not provided any medical help to her. Before
marrying Bidya Tamang, Nagen tamng had contracted three marriages and Bidya
Tamang was her fourth wife.
