 Similar to every party of the hills, the Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League (ABGL) has come forward demanding Gorkhaland. The ABGL secretary, Pratap Khati today said that Gorkhaland needs to be formed either Telangana is formed or not.

He alleged the ruling Morcha of not being sincere towards the Gorkhaland demand.

“Everyone knows the condition of GTA, which was once publicized of being next to a state”, he said and added that GTA even does not have its own account. The district magistrate’s account is being used by the GTA, he told.

Further he said that GTA is no different than the DGHC, which proved of being a hindrance for separate state formation.

“No resolution for Gorkhaland has been passed in the GTA, this shows the seriousness of the Morcha towards the demand”, charged Khati.

He demanded that charges should be made against the Morcha leaders like how it happened in Telangana.

“It is foolish to demand for a separate state when in one hand you are accepting the facilities under the government”, added Khati.

Lastly, he said that the demand has lost its way because the history of the Gorkhas has been totally presented falsely by the ruling party.
