The 1st RBC Cricket Tournament commenced today onwards at the Carmichael playground. Apart from Kalimpong, around 40 teams form Takdah, Teesta Valley, Mungsong, Bermiok, etc are taking part in this 20-20 over cricket match. The 1st match was played between Shanti Nagar Yoddha and Mahakal DaraThe finals of the tournament will be held on February 24, 2013.

Today’s inaugural function was presided over by Binay Ghising, Yuva Morcha Spokesperson, as the chief guest while the function was conducted under the presidentship of Kanta Rai.

The winning team will be given Rs 10,000/- cash and trophy while the runner up team will receive Rs 5,000/- and trophy. The tournament aims to encourage the youths in the field of sports and lead them towards the right path.
