Barbot Junior High School gets upgraded

Mukesh sharma
Kalimpong, February 19:

The Barbot Junior High School has been up-graded to High School. The said school is situated a remote village, 60 kms away from Kalimpong and falls under the Nimbong- Parbingtar area. The school was established in 1979. The school has played a major role in imparting knowledge to the children of the village and its surrounding areas, as the nest nearby school is 15-20 kms away from there. Before, the students after passing out from the school had to go the Bakhrakot Madhyamik School for further education, which is 16 kms away. The ex-students of the Barbot School, who now hold higher posts in the government departments, had to run pillar to post to upgrade the school. Now since the school has been upgraded the locals of the area are happy. The school Principal, S Panluk has thanked everyone who have helped in the school’s up-gradation.
