The Taekwondo players from the hills bagged 7 medals in the 4th National Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Sports Event. Organized under the auspices of the Bengal Olympic Association the event included a total of 32 sports event, which was concluded at different venues in Kolkata. The players representing the Gorkha Hill Taekwondo Association (GHTA) who won medals include, Ruby Newar (gold) from Darjeeling, Dipesh Sangray (Silver) from Darjeeling, Sarthak Subba (silver) from Kalimpong, Abhishek Magranti (bronze) from Kalimpong, Paran Chettri (Bronze) from Kalimpong, Obed Basur (bronze) from Kalimpong and Zigden Bhutia (bronze) form Kalimpong. The team was led by coach Gyanendra Chettri and team incharge Ratan Cintury and Anandiya Gazmer.
