The Madhyamik examinations started today with 1st language as the 1st exam. 1940 students sat for the Madhyamik exams in 10 centres at Kalimpong. Out of these students, 1091 are girls while 849 are boys.

For girls, there are 3 examination centres i.e. Kalimpong Girls High School, St. Philomena School and Pranami Balika Vidya Mandir. While for boys, the centres are Kumudini Homes School and Jubilee High School. For both girls and boys the Government High School, Algarah High School, St George High School, SUMI and Pagang Gumpa High School are the centres.

Nepali, Hindi, Bengali, Tibetan and English were the exams under the 1st language paper today. The 1st exam went well amid high security.
