A vocational training course on Tailoring, Soft Toy making & Embroidery for women under BPL category of Mungpoo Division has been undertaken by Teesta Low Dam Project, Stage-III, Rambi . The said programme has been named “ NARI SWALAMBHAN PRASHIKSHAN” . The programme commended on 04/03/2013 and shall continue till 23/03/2013.The aim of the project is to train local BPL category women of Mungpoo division in tailoring, embroidery and soft toy making and to make them self reliant in livelihood earning.

North Bengal Art Academy- a Siliguri based NGO has been assigned with the job of training the local women of Mungpoo Division. A total nos of 50 women under BPL category of Mungpoo Division will be provided training in Tailoring, Soft Toy making & Embroidery during 20 days training programme. The entire cost of the training programme including raw materials for training purpose shall be borne by Teesta Low Dam Project-III, Rambi.

This programme is a part of Corporate Social Responsibility activities undertaken by Teesta Low Dam Project-III for social and economic upliftment of local masses of project vicinity area of Darjeeling district.
