The Journalist Association of Kalimpong (JAK) has condemned the attack by the Police on the journalists during the tiff between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) which occurred recently at Siliguri. Labeling the act as barbaric, the journalists have demanded actions against the indicted policemen.

“An attack on the fourth pillar of democracy is an attack on democracy as a whole”, stated the association’s Secretary, Bhuwan Khanal and added that such happenings are being repeated which is a matter of criticism.
