The Kalimpong Traffic Police was on a checking spree at NH 31 A today. The Police at Labarbotey Check Post checked whether the drivers are using seat belts, over load vehicles, pollution, insurance, token tax, etc. Cases has been registered against 117 four wheelers and a total fine of Rs 14,250 was penalized for breaking traffic rules. The traffic hassles in the town has been fixed upto some extent after the department started registering cases for irregular parking. The OC, Praveen Gurung who himseff checked the vehicles today also appealed the drivers not to break traffic rules.
