SHRI JASWANT SINGH, MP, MISSING. GORKHALAND TASK FORCE FILES MISSING PERSON REPORT AT KALIMPONG POLICE STATION

Kalimpong  August 2: The Gorkhaland Task Force, an alliance of political parties and social organizations, today filed a missing person report at the Kalimpong Police Station in which they informed the police that Shri Jaswant Singh, Member of Lok Sabha from Darjeeling Constituency, has gone missing.

The Gorkhaland Task Force said in its report to the police that the BJP leader had been missing from Darjeeling at a time when the entire region was agitating for the creation of a Gorkhaland state. It added that Shri Singh had also been missing from all forums that were discussing the formation of states. 

Shri Singh was elected to the Lok Sabha from Darjeeling constituency with a record margin of over 2.5 lakh votes with the backing of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha. During campaining he had promised to argue for the case of Gorkhaland in all forums, including Parliament. At the time, the BJP had also put Gorkhaland, along with Telangana, in the manifesto as fit cases for statehood.

Munish Tamang, General Secretary, Gorkhaland Task Force told that we search him at Delhi but we did not find him again at a time when the separate state agitation in Darjeeling hills is on high we taught that we will meet the MP in Darjeeling but he is not present here so finally we have filed a missing complain at kalimpong .
