Three people, including two children, were charred to death in a major fire which gutted a house at Ambiok rai goan ,7 kms from Gorubathan.

The fire broke out late last night around 10 p.m when Saran Rai(34) and his two daughter shradha rai (5)and shristi rai (3) were sleeping inside their house which was made of wood told the official sources today.

One Fire engine was called from Mal bazar ,The house is said to be located on the foot hills around 1 kms from the main road due to which the fire fighter went by foot till the spot and recovered the body which was later handed over to Gorbuthan police.

The reason for fire has been cited as short circuit or fire place told the police official.

It was learnt that all the three returned to their home from Sikkim after celebrating dashara festival on 16th Oct but the mother of the children who felt sick stayed in Sikkim .

The body was sent today to North Bengal Medical College for autopsy.
