Under the supervision of S.D.O Kalimpong K Radhika Aiyar and with the joint venture of kalimpong excise and kalimpong police about 20 thousand value of illegal liquor has been seized in the last two days from different area of Kalimpong including the National Highway 31 A.On the drive organised on Tuesday at Highway shops about 97.54 liters of Sikkimese beer and 24.75 liter of Foreign liquor from Sikkim was seized along with the arrest of a man.Meanwhile a massive drive was undertaken yesterday in kalimpong block1 and two area where 78 liter of Sikkimese Beer, 20.97 liter of Foreign liquor from Sikkim ,30 liter of I/D and 40kg of pachwai was seized .One of official of Kalimpong Excise Department has said that the total value of the siezed liquor is round about 20 thousand.The places which was raided include Tista, lohapul,29th Mile, Kirnay , Malli in NH  and kalimpong town Algarah,pedong and lava.The loss of revenue of the state is a matter of concern and to check and stop this loss we have taken the drive told SDO kalimpong today.
Kalimpong subdivision one of the largest sub division in North Bengals share its boundary with Sikkim in one side,Bhutan on the other and Duars in another side.From all the points illegal carrying of Liquor is done mainly through vehicle.Kalimpong SDO after joining her job recently has been working on the plan of action to stop this trafficking of liquor after which she along with the excise and Police officials made a rapid checking drive in the sub division.

A few days ago about 70 thousand value of illegal liquor was seized by Kalimpong Excise Department at NH.
Meanwhile the Department has directed all its dealer to sell West Bengal made liquor.
