Skill updating training for extension agents at Kalimpong .

Skill updating training for extension agents under the integrated skill development scheme of Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India has been organized by Regional Sericultural Research Station, Central Silk Board, Kalimpong from 02.12 2013 to 16.12.2013 at office premises of this research station. This training was jointly inaugurated by Mrs. Chandana Maji, Scientist-D, Mrs. Regina Bhutia, Scientist-C, Dr. Ram Lakhan Ram, Scientist-B of this research station and Shri Tika Prasad Sharma, Extension officer, Dot (Seri), Kalimpong by lightning the lamp. The main objectives of this training is to empower the youth of rural and semi-urban areas through employable skill for starting sericulture based enterprise and also to address the shortage of trained manpower and to tap the huge employment potential in sericulture industry. The lecture on the various aspects of sericulture will be delivered by Mrs. Chandana Maji, Mrs. Regina Bhutia, Dr. M.D. Maji, Dr. U.K. Bandyopadhyay, Shri Sudeb Chatterjee and Dr. Ram Lakhan Ram. Apart from that, the faculties from other institutions will also be invited to empower them various aspects other than sericulture. The following farmers namely Smt. Ongamu Sherpa, Smt. Sanu Pradhan, Smt. Munna Pradhan, shri Padam Sharma, shri Ram Chandra Sharma, Sushri Anumala Pradhan, Smt. Budhalachi Rai, Smt. Furumit Lepcha, Smt. Roza Lepcha, Smt. Jyoti Rai and Smt. Arti Rai from Mahakaldhara, Upper Saurani, Lower Saurani and Yogada villages have attended this training.
