One of the Kalimpong's most revered Panditji Sri Mahavir Prasad Sharma, has left for heavenly abode today, at the age of 83. After almost 19 days in the ICU, Panditji Sri Mahavir Prasad Sharma, passed away due to cardie-respiratory failure in the specialty hospital of Siliguri. Kalimpong today deeply mourns the unfortunate death of Panditji.He breathed his last at around 1 pm today at a private hospital in Siliguri. He suffered a major heart attack on the 19th of December and was rushed to a private nursing hospital in Siliguri and was on ventilation ever since. On the 2nd of January he was shifted to another specialty hospital after his health deteriorated immensely,where he breathed his last. He was 83 years of age and was born on the 1st of December 1931.The devotees and followers from nearby places flocked to the mandir premises as soon as the news spread in the town.All the communities of the hills are shocked and grieved at this news. According to a family source, the body of Panditji would be available for public viewing in the Thakurbari Mandir from 7am to 10 am for the devotees and the public to pay their homage to the departed soul. After 10 am the body will be taken around the town and will reach labarbotey where his last rites will be held .
