Bimal Claims attack by TMC leader.

HM Reports
Kalimpong, Apr 3:
Days after he spoke out his fear of being killed like maoist leader ‘Kishenji’, , Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) chief Bimal Gurung on Thursday claimed that he was attacked by a Trinamool leader with a pistol in Darjeeling. Speaking at a rally here at Mela ground to campaign for BJP candidate S.S. Ahluwalia Gurung specifically named Appa Rajen, the TMC vice president in the hills responsible behind the attack. “While I was on my way from Darjeeling, a vehicle near Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) that had TMC flag atop intercepted my vehicle. A man with a pistol came out from the vehicle to attack me,” claimed Gurung.

“People travelling with me however grabbed the man and his pistol before he could use it to kill me. All efforts asking police to take action failed,” he added.

Gurung said he immediately informed the Inspector-Incharge of Darjeeling Sadar Police station and even sent one of his personal security employees to file a report in the police station. “The police refused to register the complaint,” alleged Gurung adding that the ‘police attitude’ is a conspiracy to kill him. Gurung, it may be noted is the chief executive of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) and enjoys status of a cabinet rank minister. Interestingly, following the election code of conduct, the state government withdrew security of the chief.
The GJM chief known allegedly to be involved in late Madan Tamang murder and injuring his security guard was granted anticipatory bail by the Kolkata high court. Gurung today demanded strict action against the TMC leader Appa Rajen for masterminding the attack and will soon write to the Election commission on the matter. Ahluwalia the BJP nominee reportedly has informed the union home secretary on the matter.
