Court Relief for Bimal Gurung and Seven other in Highway Blockade Case

In a major relief to GTA and GJM Chief Bimal Gurung and 7 others, a kalimpong court today acquitted him in a 2011 National Highway 31 A blockade case .
ACJM judge Kamal Sarkar acquitted Gurung and others seven for their involvement in the case.

A suo-moto case was filed against the GJM Chief cum Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Chief Executive, Bimal Gurung for blocking the NH31A during the time of agitation in 2011.

Gurung along with Dil Kumari Chhettri, Ratna@ Kali Sunar, Sundas Pradhan, Sagar Pradhan,Anita Rai and Bhim Chhetri were booked under section 143/341/186/283/506 of IPC and R/W sec 8B N/H 31 A.

Gurung today appeared in the court for Judgement within 10 min of of the appearance he and other were acquitted by the court. Gurung express satisfaction and said he was happy that he came out innocent.
Later speaking to reporters he thanked the Judge , his lawyer and all other member of the bar association .
Rajiv Parajuli the Lawyer of Gurung informed that he along with seven others were acquitted by the court as the prosecution failed to prove the allegation.
