Just after 10 days of the Tista minor rape incident ,a similar case has come in focus today at Rompu . This time the minor who is 4 years old and the accused Suresh Biswakarma(26). According to the Information received the incident occurred at 8.30 am in the morning when the minor was taken by his neighbor Suresh at his place . At that time the parents of the child went to Dhara to collect water but when the mother came back to her house when she saw her 4 year old child coming crying she asked her and later found that blood was coming from her private part. Ranjita Mangar grandmother of the victim told that the Suresh was her neighbor but today he took the advantage and took her to his place and then raped her. Soon after the victim named the accused the mob starting to manhandled Suresh on the spot. Only after someone informed the Rompu check post the police reached the spot and anyway was able to save the accused as the mob was ready to do their Justice in the Spot. Suresh was bought to Rompu check post as he was being taken by police to the vehicle to bring him to kalimpong the fiery mob again attack him and some of the men snatched the key of the vehicle. In such a Situation the OC of Rompu Check post Dawa Sherpa has no other way he catch the accused and started running toward N.H .

The mob too began to chase but luckily he got a bike of a known person by which he was able to bring the accused to Tarkhola from where again he boarded a Vehicle and came toward Kalimpong. Until the mob too boarded the vehicle and come towards kalimpong. At around 10.15 the victim along with the family first reached Kalimpong Thana from where police took the victim for medical Check up at Sub divisional Hospital.Then after only the victim critically injured as a result of man handling was bought where the still furious residents who have reached the Hospital premises got support of local who demanded the accused to be handed over to them.

The situation started to grew tense in the hospital after which Kalimpong Police and CRPF reached the hospital where confrontation between CRPF jawans, police who were trying to abort the OPD , nearly took an ugly turn. The police however was able to pacify the mob who demanded that Rai be handed over to them.

In the reccee police also had to escort Biswakarma amidst tight security by CRPF jawans to the upper part of hospital for medical examination. Meanwhile, the hospital authorities have not yet confirmed the medical report but the accused has been booked under section 376 of IPC informed A Gupta the In charge of Kalimpong Police station.

Both the victim and accused have been admitted in the Hospital. According to SDMO Dr. Sonam Bhutia , the accused has sustain multiple injuries in his body. He said that the condition of the victim is out of Danger.
