LT Gen KJ Singh , AVSM , GOC of Trishakti Corps today hoisted the magnificent and huge Tiranga, National Flag of India at Delo Point amidst fanfare presence of Major General G.S.Sangha ,SM,VSM, GOC of Striking Lion Division, officer of Division and Civil Dignities.The Solemn ceremony was simultaneously carried out by bugle calls.
As always Indian Army has been in forefront in the matters of putting the national interest before everything else.With the aim to instill a sense of National Pride and spread the symbolism if the Indian Tricolour , The Tiranga, Striking Lion Division,with assistance from Flag Foundation of India and GTA today organised a in stallion and hoisting of a National Flag.
Display of the Tricolor at Delo Point which is the highest point of Kalimpong Town which stand at a height of 5,600 feet would motivate all citizens of rising above the religion,political affiliations and have sense of pride of being an Indian.
To Demonstrate the ordinary citizen's Tribute to nationhood, The Flag Foundation of India, a Ngo , initaited by Parliamentarian Naveen Jindal and Delo Management has provided all assistance for the noble Cause and assured providing all space and Maintenance of the National Flag post which stand 100 feet above the Ground . The size of the Flag is 20*30 feet and the Tricolor Flag was installed in record time of 10 days only. 

Commander K.V.Singh The CEO of the NGO today said that the Flag which has been hoisted is the first in the State.He said that the Flag is usually installed in Tourism places so that more and more people connect to it.He informed that so far around 55 such flag has been installed in different places
The Army and the NGO today thanks the GTA administration for providing Space .
The concept of monumental flag poles and Monumental Flag masts in India was conceived and introduced by the founder of the Flag Foundation, Shri Naveen Jindal, in 2009.
Kalimpong SDO,K Radhika Aiyar , GTA Deputy Chief Col.Ramesh Allay , GTA Councillor Nima Tamang and may other civil dignitaries were present in the program.
