acquire a highest degree of education which made him pursue a degree of PhD in
2007 which winded up in 2012.
“When
pursuing my M.sc in N.B.U, I felt that people of other community had a
different impression towards the people of hills and that’s when I understood
that I had to gain more qualification to make an even surface in the field of
education in order to compete with the students of other communities’ Said
Sharma.
Sharma
later started working in S.D.O Office in Kalimpong as an engineer-in-charge who
now assists different departments of the office. Chasing the dream to be the

Geography and applied geography.
Living
a life of retrospection he now harks back to his activity when he was young,
recalling the olden days he said, ‘I always had a mind towards research since I
was a kid, I used to pay attention to the budding peaches and note down the
date when the tree actually gave fruits expecting the fruits in the same date
the next year, the failure later made me realize that the temperature plays a
bigger role’
Talking
about managing his time for his aim he said that he applied for a permission to
complete his degree to the higher authority of the writers building Kolkata
which was approved in the condition of pursuing the degree without any
sidetrack to his present work (S.D.O office) ‘abiding with the condition of the
higher authority, I worked on my thesis after getting home from office till
late at night and utilized the government holidays in research work by turning
all the distractions off’ says the Doctorate.
Acknowledging
everyone who supported him to achieve his goal in his late fifties he said that
he had the best guide and it’s under his (Dr. Subir Sarkar) supervision that he
was able to complete his PhD degree successfully, says Dr. Sharma before
