Saint Philomena School Kalimpong has been severely affected by the 25th April Nepal Earthquake and then the regular aftershock. The coveted School in Kalimpong was established in 1928 and ranks in top Madhyamik School in Kalimpong. The old structured Building has obtained cracks from the ground to Top Floor affecting more than 450 student who are forced to study in open ground right now. GTA chief Bimal Gurung has been updated with the condition of the structure after which a team of KED was sent by Gurung to inspect informed Crysanta Rai principal of ST Philomena School Today. Local Sabhasad Kazim Thsering Bhutiya too today inspect the school building. The ceiling of many classes have obtained Crack along with the floor. The Kalimpong Engineering Department has express danger Situation after inspecting the building which was too damage in the year 2011 quake. Student are the most suffers who are forced to study in open sunlight touching 30 degree. Bhutia today announced 2 huge tent as a immediate relief and informed that the matter has been sent for process in GTA and Concerned Department. The school have appealed for help to Local, Civil, GTA administration
