Cong VP send reps at Ghatani's Funeral

P.B Ghatanay-the vice president of district congress committee who passed away yesterday
around 1 am in Sewa Sadan Hospital made many congressmen flock from Delhi to
Kolkotta to attend his funeral at his residence, today.
P.B Ghatanay joined West
Bengal Pradesh Congress as a member 1962 and later became the district Congress
committee’s vice president for the last 30 years. He was also a social activist
who participated in every social event.
The President and Vice
President of All India Congress Committee (AICC) sent their representatives to
attend Ghatanay’s last rites today. Namik Sherpa who works in Rahul Gandhi’s
presence in Delhi represented the Gandhi’s.
Adhiranjan Chaudhari, the
President of Pradesh Congress Committee also sent his representatives from
Kolkotta to accolade Ghatanay’s contribution in Congress for last 53 years. The
team of 4 had arrived here in the leadership of Tapash Bhattarjee.
The general secretary of
AICC and the West Bengal in-charge of the party, C.P Joshi and the general
secretary/Delhi in-charge Shakil Ahemad and Virendra Kataria ex-lieutenant governor
couldn’t turn up today but they didn’t fail to provide condolence to the family
of the deceased through telephone, informed Surendra Parik, a senior
congressman.
Many people belonging from
different political background paid the last tribute to P.B Ghatany,
representatives of GJM, CPRM, TMC, ABGL and GNLF were also seen in the spot
till late afternoon.
