Indefinite hunger strike over Rai board claim

The 14 member of Khambu Rai Samaj today started an indefinite hunger strike at Trikone Park. Samaj who sat on dharna from Saturday against the interference of Kirati Khambu Rai Sanskritik Sansthan(KKKRS) in Development board announced last month by CM. The Khambu Rights Movement(KRM) which was spearheading the movement for ST status along with Development board got happy news on 24th Jan when State CM Mamata Banerjee announced the formation of Limbu and Rai Development Board.
The Khambu Rights Movement(KRM), Board Development Committee and town committee have lend the support to the Hunger strike.

KRM Spokesperson Manoj Rai Today said we were the one who spearheaded the movement alone. They(KKKRS) did not even lend us the support. Being a parent body we thought that they will do anything for the youth but when did we felt that they cant do anything the result was KRM which from last 2 years have been keeping correspondence with government both in State and Central Level.
He alleged that the one who did not lend support and fully was against the formation of board are now claiming to run the Board announced by State. They have send the names of proposed board administrator . We don't want any interference he added.
He told if our demand are not met we will Gheraw the house of those interfering out of which are from our and some other community also.
Meanwhile The KKKRS Kalimpong Sub division Committee have denied the allegation of KRM . Arun Prakash Rai secretary of KKKRS Kalimpong told that KRM was the one who were agitating and we were working on documentation . He said in spite of making our community a laughing subject they should focus on how to build a strong organization.
