People of Kalimpong have been facing massive problem in the ongoing distribution of Digital Ration card.Many fault has been found in the name, age , address of the dealer .The process which started in the first week of July has now been creating a buzz in the sub division.Residents of Kalimpong municipal along with Block areas have been now visiting the distribution centre for correction, inclusion of names and shifting dealers.

CPIM Kalimpong Zonal Committee secretary, Tara Sundas has warned the department saying we will soon file a case for Stay Order. Sundas told the process of distribution has been creating a havoc in distribution centres.

He said the National Food Security Act (NFSA) states that special focus should be given to remote areas and other areas which are difficult to access~hilly and tribal areas for ensuring food security but the department is defying the orders instead.The people who are getting digital cards have been put in AAY categories, why not PHH or SPHH categories, he questioned. About 90% who have collected digital ration cards have taken out forms for correction, inclusion or shifting.

Meanwhile, JAP President Dr Harka Bahadur Chhetri when asked told that he will soon meet the State food and supply minister Jyoti Priya Mallick and discuss the matter.
