Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (GJMM) held its 2nd Sunday meeting at Kalimpong Mela Ground here today.Announcing party future programmes for a separate state of Gorkhaland,while addressing a public meeting, GJMM spearhead Mr Bimal Gurung said, “Our new course of action will keep aloof common people off all the problems they had to encounter in the past. We have taken up this agitation as a challenge.We have a four
day Dharna program from 12 to 16 December at NewDelhi.”

He added that prime GJMM leaders will take part in the program which may turn into an indefinite hunger strike or even self immolation.He hinted that even he might take part in the indefinite hunger strike. Mr Gurung appealed Jana Andolan Party (JAP), Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) and other parties to take part in the program in which all elected representatives of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration(GTA) Sabhasad, Municipality Councilors and main stream leaders of the party will take part.

Speaking on the context of upcoming Municipality elections,Gurung was confident of a clean sweep at all the four hills municipalities. Regarding the Panchayat election in Darjeeling hills which is due for more than past one decade,Mr Gurung said state must follow the GTA act which mentions that
a three tier panchayat election must be held.No one is above the constitution. He demanded a three tier panchayat election and said that GJMM will win all the seats.

Taking on JAP activities on water problem here he said, “Don’t do the water politics.JAP and GJMM can make a team of 2 members each which will approach the state government on water crisis issue and ask for sanction of fund for redressal instead of giving funds to development boards.”

Alleging that Mr Chettri during his tenure as the MLA never visited the PHE water sources,Gurung satirically said, “Now, when he is not in power he is seen visiting the sites and burning the effigy in protest. If he desperately wants a post, then I am ready to redress his craving.”

GJMM study forum member Mr P Arjun, Sabhasad Mr Samuel Gurung , Mr Arun Chettri, Smt Tshring Dahal,Miren Lama addressed the meet attended in large number organized by GJM Kalimpong Sub Division committee.
