Gorkhaland not in BJP’s agenda, says Dilip Ghosh

Kalimpong, 28 December

The state BJP is not in favour of a separate state, even as the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha is in discussion with the Centre-led BJP government demanding a committee on separate state issue.

Speaking to the reporters, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh, who came to Kalimpong to attend an organisational meeting at Govind Kunj Bhawan today said creating a separate state was not a solution; taking two or three legislative seats for a separate state was also not a good idea.

He said the previous CPM or the Congress governments had not taken care of the Hills so they were unsatisfied. The TMC have also adopted a policy of dividing the Darjeeling communities.
“They are doing a vote bank politics.Despite 6 years in power what have they done for the development of Hills?” Mr Ghosh asked.

He said when the Centre is giving crores of funds to the GTA then where is the development. He said a separate state is not in BJP agenda.
He said BJP is in favour of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Bikas’. He alleged despite fund the GTA too has not taken up development works.
He said the road condition in remote villages is worse. BJP is working to form booth level committee all over the state, adding “Our Darjeeling unit too is working, we want to take the Central government scheme to all sections.”

Later Ghosh visited the camp of the RSS at Pranami Balika Vidhya Mandir school premises.Ghosh will attend an organisational meet in Darjeeling tomorrow.

The meeting was attended by Darjeeling district BJP president Manoj Dewan , vice president KC Pokrel, secretary Samir Sharma, Vasudev Sharma for BJP farmers’unit ,Sagar Pokrel youth leader and others.

Mojority of the Bengalies dont support the division of the West Bengal State ....

Will they agree with the formation of an AUTONOMOUS STATE of GORKHALAND --- a state within state (without dividing the mother state of West Bengal) --- as mentioned in the Article 244A of the part X of Indian Constitution ??
