The state BJP is not in favour of a separate state, even as the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha is in discussion with the Centre-led BJP government demanding a committee on separate state issue.

Speaking to the reporters, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh, who came to Kalimpong to attend an organisational meeting at Govind Kunj Bhawan today said creating a separate state was not a solution; taking two or three legislative seats for a separate state was also not a good idea.

He said BJP is in favour of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Bikas’. He alleged despite fund the GTA too has not taken up development works.
He said the road condition in remote villages is worse. BJP is working to form booth level committee all over the state, adding “Our Darjeeling unit too is working, we want to take the Central government scheme to all sections.”
