Who Cares’ renders service to humanity
MUKESH SHARMA
Kalimpong,
July 26:
‘Who
Cares’, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) under the World Health
Organization (WHO), today visited various places and rendered their social
services to around 20- 25 mentally ill patients and the beggars. The members of
the NGO bathed the, cut their hair, provided them with new set of clothes and
also fed them.
The
said NGO mainly comprises of the youths who have been delivering social
services in the North East region of the country. One of the members of the
NGO, Sharon Yonzone expressed that in this age of modernity people have lost
humane values. We do not have time to think for our fellow human beings. We all
are so busy dealing with our lives that we tend to over look the sufferings of
others, she added. “In the future we would like to construct a home for the
needy where they can avail all kind of facilities along with proper medical
care,” she said. Further, she mentioned that the NGO shall also try to find out
why some people who belong to good families are compelled to beg. “There is no
help from the Government till date and we do not expect any,” told Yonzone. The
NGO has been functioning on the funds pulled in by the members along with the
support from the locals.
