Rambi starts preparing for I-Day Celebration

After the Gorkhaland
Territorial Administration election, Kalimpong now has geared up for the
Independence Day celebration. Almost all the schools in and around Kalimpong
are busy rehearsing parade and cultural programmes for the big day.

Samiti this time shall be celebrating the day in a grand manner along the
NH31A. The Spokesperson of the Samiti Jiten Chettri informed the reporters that
a 12 kms marathon run from Teesta to Rambi will be the attraction of the day
where the winner will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 8, 000. The celebration
will also have football tournament for the U-14 and many other sports to shine
the day he added. 800 mtrs race for men
and 400 mtrs for girls will also be organized he informed.
All the schools nearby
Rambi and the Kendriya Vidyalaya will take part in the parade he added.
