Condition of NH31A deteriorates, poses threat to the commuters
MUKESH SHARMA
Kalimpong,
July 30:
The
National Highway (NH) 31A which is a major lifeline of Kalimpong and its
neighbouring State Sikkim has not been well off lately due to the monsoon
triggered landslides. The rain has further deteriorated the condition of the
road along Baghpool, Kali Jhora, Suntaley- Riyag, Rambi, 29th Mile,
Rambi Jhora etc. The commuters are the mostly affected section. These bad conditions
of the roads also pose a threat to the drivers plying this route. The road
widening work of the GREF at the Kali Jhora and Riyag is another add-on to this
inconvenience.
