Despite
of Kalimpong being unaffected by the All India Bandh, the Communist Party of
Revolutionary Marxists (CPRM) has thanked all those who have supported the
Bandh. The Party Spokesperson, Mohan Poudyal said that the Gorkha Janmukti
Morcha (GJM) who has mastered the art of conducting Bandhs since 2007 did not
support this imperative Bandh because the price hike as they are least
concerned about the price hike. Paying additional Rs 5 in diesel prices does
not make any difference to them as they have accumulated enough money through
the funds of Aila relief fund and Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC),
alleged Poudyal. The people favoured the Bandh however, they could do nothing
as Morcha was against it, he added.
The
CPRM Kalimpong regional committee, President, Kishore Pradhan said that GJM is
anti people’s party as they are against the development. “To make our appeal
unsuccessful, the GJM did not declare any Bandhs”, he charged. He also
complained about the GJM Chief Bimal Gurung not being amidst its people during
their time of need. “A work of a leader is to take care of its people. Any
leader going against the wishes of the people shall later repent”, he added.
Lastly, Pradhan recommending GJM not to support anti people decisions added
that GJM has been working just for their political interests.
