GTF wants BJP to clear their stands on Gorkhaland

A
meeting of the Gorkhaland Task Force (GTF) was held today which had the
presence of the Bharitya Gorkha Parisangh (BGP), Akhil Bharitya Gorkha League (ABGL),
Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxists (CPRM) and Gorkha Rashtriya Nirman
Morcha (GRNM).
The GTF Coordinator R Moktan giving the information
said that the meeting discussed several issues and passed many declarations. He
said that Gorkhaland is not the issue which is limited only to the Hills but is
the concern of the Gorkhas residing whole over the country. The meeting decided
to spread the message to the width and breadth of the country and the GFT once
again will kick start its touring in different states of the country especially
the North Eastern states said Moktan.
‘GTF
is designed for Gorkhaland and we believe that all the Gorkha organisations and
associations in the country will come forward to assist the movement’ said
Moktan. After the meeting with the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, the
GTF has been getting positive response from the north eastern states and the
western states for which the meeting has also decided to meet the NDA leaders
leaving the UPA.
The
BJP has also been claiming that they will be conceding statehood to Telengana
within the three months of them coming into the power. Telengana has only 1 MP
from the region but from the Hills they have their veteran leader Jaswant Singh
and the GTF wants the BJP to clear their stands on Gorkhaland issue, and the
GTF shall put up its programmes further said Moktan.
He
also slammed the statements of the Darjeeling District Magistrate also the GTA
Principal Secretary Dr Soumitra Sen who had said that GTA will be a model in
the whole country. Moktan here said that Dr Sen must not push people under
darkness as the GTA is just a mere agency which lies nowhere near statehood.
Gorkhaland is the political security, political identity of the Gorkhas and Dr
Sen should not give such misleading statements appealed Moktan.
