The Hills Social Welfare Society (HSWS) with the help of TDS Germany/ Alnatura conducted a childrens’ meet cum workshop on the theme, ‘Ecological Child Rights’, at the Disha Sahayata Centre, today.

Bhuwan P Khanal, Dr GS Yonzon and lecturer of Kalimpong College, Hirendra Kumar Gautam were the resource persons. They edified the 68 children of tea garden workers coming from the Lopchu- Pesok area about ecology and urged them to work towards the conservation of the environment. The children were also made aware of their ecological rights so that nobody takes away their rights.

The Secretary of HSWS, Shobha Chettri, Uden Bhutia and Phurba Sherpa along with Deputy Magistrate, Pritam Limboo were also present.
