The 4 dayslong Chatt Puja has commenced from today. Similar to other parts of India, Kalimpong too witnessed large number people preparing for the Puja. The markets are in a festive mood on a full swing. Varieties of fruits can be seen being sold in the market. The Chatt Puja Committee has started decorating the venue, Mela Ground for the auspicious occasion. The committee had appealed for the schools to be closed during the Puja this year. Thus, it has been informed that many schools will remain closed on the main day of the Puja. The committee has extended their gratituted to the schools for the same and welcomed the decision.
