The Shanka Mani Pradhan & Hasta Maya Pradhan Humanitarian Rotary Library was inaugurated today at the office of the Rotary Club of Kalimpong situated at Upper Court Road. The digital library established by Dr Khem Pradhan resident of Nag Dhara, Fatima and Mohan Kumari Pradhan, resident of Kalimpong is in the memory of their parents. The library aims to cater the need of the deprived children of Kalimpong, through which they can learn about internet and connect with the outside world. They can also avail knowledge through the various types of books placed in the library. Dr Khem Pradhan at present is working in the USA.

Mohan Kumari Pradhan was present as the chief guest during the inauguration while Principal of Dr Graham Homes, Hilda Pikk was the guest of honour. The welcome note was delivered by the President of Rotary Club of Kalimpong, Dr DP Pandey. An interactive programme was also held later during the function during which the children present enquired about the library. Principals of different Schools, students and members of the Club were also present.
