Kalimpong, December 23:

3 months long Cutting and Tailoring Training commenced in the residence of Bum Bahadur Gurung today. The training an initiative of the 37 no Constituency Sabhasad, Kalpana Tamang is being organized by the Naari Morcha branch of Upper Pagang under Payeu Gram Panchayat. Sabhasad Tamang was present as the chief guest for the inaugural function held under the presidentship of Dachiki Gurung. The training aims to make the females of the said area self reliant. Doma Gurung and Munnu Tamang will be imparting training to the participants. The overall expense of the training is being borne by Sabhasad Tamang.

The chief guest in her address said that the training is being held remembering the contributions of the women during the agitation. Through this training the unemployed women of the area will be getting employment opportunities, she added and notified that similar trainings will be held in other areas of the Constituency in the coming days.

The Sabhasad also present 50 chairs to the members of Santuk Lumbung-2 Sewa Samaj. President of Morcha Upper Pagang branch, Dawa Dorjee Sherpa, President of Yuva Morcha branch, Dawa Tenzi Sherpa and the representatives of the Morcha Payeu Dalapchand Zonal Committee were also present during today’s function.
