Fire gutted a house of one Gajen Gurung at Gitkolbong under Gityong Gram Panchayat at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Property around 3.5 lakhs comprising of a sack of large cardamom and cash Rs 88,000/- has been engulfed by the fire, it has been reported. The owner was not present in the house when the incident occurred. Though loss of life has not been reported, 3 children who were in the house suffered burns and have been admitted to the hospital. It is being opined that the fire spread from the stove. The incident was also reported to the area’s GTA sabhasad, Kalyan Dewan and officers of block II.
