A day long health checkup camp for the artisans was held at Kamla Medical, 8th Mile Kalimpong today. The checkup was done under the scheme Rajiv Gandhi Swastha Bima Yojana initiated by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Doctors from Kolkata along with local three doctors conducted the health checkup and also distributed free medicines. Under he said scheme, free insurance is also done for the artisans those artisans who have a health card and identity card issued by the government can avail the free insurance scheme. Four people under one family gets insured.
