Binita Rai, daughter of late Sharda Rai received a cheque of Rs 4 lakhs from the SBI, Kalimpong branch today. Late Sharda Rai had done a life insurance of Rs 100/- at SBI, Kalimpong branch just before 26 days of her demise. She passed away in a road accident at Bhalukhop on 6th November, 2012. She had done life insurance on October 10th, 2013. The family members after her death approached the bank and notified about it. After much inspection from the bank’s side, the family members were granted Rs 4 lakhs for the Accidental Insurance of Rs 100/-.

The SBI Siliguri Zonal office AGM, Apresh Das and branch Manager, Binod Kumar Sinha were the chief guest for the distribution programme held today.

Das informed that the said insurance scheme was initiated keeping in mind the rural populace of the country.  He also appealed  others to do the said insurance.
