The Gorkha Dukh Niwarak Sammelan (GDNS) and Kalimpong Sangrakshan Samiti carried out a protest rally condemning the statement delivered by Ravinder Singh Ravi, the MLA of Himachal Pradesh. The rally on behalf of the public after encircling the town culminated outside the Sub Divisional office. They submitted a memorandum to the SDO, LN Sherpa and reiterated their condemnation over Singh’s statement about the Gorkhas where he had stated that Gorkhas eat monkey and dog meat.

“It is a matter of shame that an Indian is passing such comment on another Indian”, they said and demanded apology from Singh.

Uday Kumai, RL Trikhatri, Sonam T Bhutia, members of the organizations and school students also participated in the rally.
