The Indian team has bagged 4 Gold , 5 Silver and 9 Bronze Medal in the South Asian Karate-Do Championship 2013  which was held on 28^th & 29^th Sept 2013 at Yangchenphu Higher Secondary School ,Thimpu Bhutan.The event was organized By Shito-Ryo Seiko Kai Karate-Do Bhutan which is a body Recognized by Bhutan Olympic Committee ,Dept. of Youth & Sports (Ministry of Education).In this event Sushan Thapa of kalimpong who played in the open category has won1 Silver Medal  in Individual Kumite  and 1 Bronze Medal in Team Kumite.The event witness participation of Bhutan,India and Nepal.

In the opening ceremony of the Championship Dasho TSHERING TOBAY  Hon’ble Prime Minister Royal Govt. of Bhutan was the chief guest while Ashi Chimi Yangzom Wangchuk  (King’s Younger  Sister)  and Dasho Yeshi  Dorjee  Hon’ble Agriculture  Minister Royal Govt. of Bhutan was present as special guest .While in the Closing day Chief Guest was President and General Secretary of Bhutan.
