First Dengue victim-Nursing staff of Kalimpong Hospital dies due to Dengue

A 47-year- old woman Padma Golay (47) a nursing staff of Kalimpong Sub Divisional Hospital died while undergoing treatment
for dengue on Sunday. This is the first dengue death in the sub division .
Officials
of kalimpong hospital said that golay, resident of Gel , suffered
from fever when she was admitted at hospital on 4th Oct . After her
health deteriorated last night she was immediately refereed to Siliguri
hospital where on the way she breathed her last.
SDMO Dr.Sonam confirmed the death due to dengue,but
as to how she got infected from this disease that is under investigation
told doctor.He also added that the hospital is treating every fever patient seriously
Meanwhile many dengue suspect pateint are still admitted in kalimpong hospital.Kalimpong hospital lacks equipment for testing this disease.
On
the one hand Kalimpong Municipality a few days ago claimed that there
is no such mosquito located in Kalimpong but this case has proved the
claim of municipality fake.
