The Sharda depositor today received the so called puja bonus from the North Bengal Development Minister, Mr. Gautam Deb today with a Tamang cap in his head distributed money to some of the victims who had earlier deposited their hard earned money in “Sharda”, an investment company, through cheques in a program held at Kalimpong Town Hall . 

Meanwhile, the minister distributed and gave away cheques to the 42 beneficiaries of the Justice Shayamal Sen Commission of Inquiry residing under Kalimpong sub division area.

Kalimpong S.D.O K Radika Ayyer said that a total of 69 depositor list were prepared in which 46 were from block1,3 from block 2 and 20 from block 3. Today 42 turned out to take their money. today the   beneficiaries  received cheques worth Rs. 10000 and as low as Rs. 1200.

Addressing the program, Mr. Deb Our government wants peace and prosperity to flourish in Hills for which we are committed .Our state government has taken the responsibility to help the poor people who have been cheated by the Chit Fund company. He further added that after the Sharda Company scam, an inquiry commission under Justice Shayamal Sen was formed and following its reports, in a short period time under the initiative of CM Banerjee our government is distributing the cheques to the poor beneficiaries.

He also suggested to the people to invest their money in several Government Schemes and Banks. 

When talking to reporters Mr. Gautam Deb said that I have come here on a Government mission. But When stressed by reporters regarding the Tamang Development board Formation he said that i am not the one who will form it but it depend upon the Cheif Minister. He denied to make any political comment but when asked about Binay Tamang exile he said that it is sub judice matter and law will take it own case.

In today’s programme a host of top Government Officials including Darjeeling ADM Mr.Kaushik Bhattacharya , newly posted Kalimpong S.D.O K Radika Ayyer ,Kalimpong ASP K Kannan  and other important dignitaries were present.
