Morcha think tank and Kalimpong Municipality Chairman L.B.Pariyar passes away

The Kalimpong Municipality
chairman and the first IAS of the Gorkha Community Lalit Bahadur Pariyar
breathed his last today in a private hospital at siliguri around 1.30
am this morning after which his body was bought back to kalimpong East main road his house. Born
in the year 21st June , 1937 Pariyar died today at the age of 77 years
.He passed the IAS exam in the year 1963 and officially retired in the
year 1995 after serving different post of government of India and West
Bengal and other states too.He was a member of the GJM study forum and a
think tank of the party.He played an important role in making the
proposal of the GTA from Morcha side. Having all out experience in
administrative field he was elected as the chairman of kalimpong
Municipality in the year 2011 December. Having completed his primary and
secondary from SUM institution he completed his Masters form Kolkatta
university and cleared the IAS in 1963. His first posting was SDO
Murshidabad. In his officail adminsrative life he captured the post of Darjeeling settlements officer , ADM Jalpaigudi , Purulia DM ,
Additional Secretary, Labour Department, Government of India , Joint
Secretary, Department of Agriculture , Panchayat Secretary Govt. OF West Bengal
, Darjeeling CPS , Divisional Commissioner Burdwan and Jalpaigudi , Directorate with
ESI in Delhi during his tenure.After his retirement he was chosen as Secretary of The Nagaland Public Service commission's in the year June 97- Jan 98 After retirement he remained in the Darjeeling District Primary Education Council Board for two years. Finally
from 2007 he joined the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha in the Study forum and
served as chairman of kalimpong municipality board till his death today. His last rite will be conducted on Sunday at 11 am at Bhalukhop .
GJM president Bimal Gurung in his official fb account has written"I
am deeply saddened to learn about the
passing of Mr. L.B Pariyar, Kalimpong Municipality Chairman, an
outstanding Administrator and a member of the GJM study forum. As the
Chairman of Kalimpong Municipality he worked towards the betterment of Kalimpong and its people.
His commitment, dedication and strong responsibility to Kalimpong will continue to serve as a source of inspiration for everyone in Kalimpong.
In this hour of grief, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to his family and friends.' Roshan Giri and other leaders from the party along with administrative Authority from kalimpong and darjeeling today payed honored to Pariyar body.
His commitment, dedication and strong responsibility to Kalimpong will continue to serve as a source of inspiration for everyone in Kalimpong.
